NICHOLAS J. GITONGA

Gitonga is a practicing Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, Commissioner for Oaths and Notary Public who specializes in capital markets and mergers and acquisitions.

Gitonga has been involved in major capital markets projects including preparation of a framework for listing by introduction, enhancement of CMA’s regulatory oversight and enforcement tools, automation of trading of bonds on the NSE, implementation of a broker back office system and establishment of the growth enterprise market segment at the NSE. More recently, Gitonga has been advising investment banks, stockbrokers, fund managers and investment advisors on their regulatory compliance and on client transactions. This advisory work includes the development of development of a retail investment banking product including structuring of the product, risk analysis support, manuals and standards development, contracts development, and regulator engagement for approvals; advising on the establishment of a unit trust by an investment bank; advising on the handling of investor claims by a fund manager; development of a new product for provision of liquidity to investors of a collective investment scheme; and development of robust systems and procedures for managing stockbroker agents. As for mergers and acquisitions, Gitonga has advised clients on transactions totalling over USD 120 Million.

Gitonga completed his law degree at the University of Nairobi and his Global Executive MBA from USIU and Frankfurt School of Management & Finance. He is a member of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK), Institute of Certified Secretaries (ICS), Institute of Certified Investment and Financial Analysts (ICIFA), Chartered Institute of Securities & Investment (CISI), Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) and Institute of Directors (IOD). He has also pursued the Chartered Finance Analyst CFA® qualification and completed the first level.

He previously worked with the Nairobi Securities Exchange Limited (NSE) as Manager Compliance & Legal until December 2012. Prior to joining NSE in 2007, he was with the Capital Markets Authority in the Legal Affairs Department.

Faith is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a Commissioner for Oaths. She holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LL.B) from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa and a Post Graduate Diploma from the Kenya School of Law.

Prior to joining the Firm, Faith worked with the firm of Ransley McVicker & Shaw Advocates, Genghis Capital Limited and Nairobi City County.

As a Senior Associate, Faith is responsible for undertaking commercial transactions in a timely and proficient manner to deliver top-notch quality services to clients. She is tasked with high profile and complex assignments by overseeing the transactions from inception to completion.

Faith specializes in mergers and acquisitions, property law & conveyance practice, capital markets, project finance, private equity, capital raising and reorganizations, joint ventures, contract drafting and negotiations and general commercial law.

TATYANNA CHERYL GATI CHACHA

Tatyanna is a dynamic Lawyer with a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LL.B) from Strathmore University and a Diploma in Business Management from the Strathmore Institute of Management and Technology. Her expertise lies in merging legal principles with business acumen, ensuring comprehensive solutions for her clients.

As a certified professional mediator, Tatyanna excels in navigating intricate negotiations and crafting mutually beneficial agreements, fostering effective conflict resolution. At the Firm, she has played a pivotal role in diverse legal transactions, including corporate restructuring, real estate structuring, capital markets, data protection, and intellectual property matters.

Tatyanna’s meticulous attention to detail and strategic insight enable her to address clients’ needs comprehensively, while her prior experiences at Lehmann Associates and the European Union have honed her practical skills and international perspective. JANE MARUBU - HUMAN RESOURCE OFFICER & PRACTICE COORDINATOR

Jane serves as our esteemed Human Resource Officer & Practice Coordinator. Certified as a Human Resource Professional (CHRP-K), She is a proud alumna of KCA University, where she earned her Bachelor of Commerce degree, majoring in Human Resource Management.

Prior to joining the Firm, Jane worked with the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and Kenya Power and Lighting Company, demonstrating her seasoned experience in diverse organizational settings.

With specializations spanning Human Resources, Business Management, Performance Management, Business Strategy, and Financial Management, Jane is equipped with a comprehensive skill set to drive the Firm forward with proficiency and efficacy.

CATHERINE GITARI

FRONT OFFICE & ADMINISTRATION OFFICER

Catherine is our Front Office and Administration officer at the Firm. She holds a Diploma in International Relations and Diplomacy.

Prior to joining the Firm, she worked as a Front office Administrator at the firm of Macharia Waiganjo and Nyakoe Advocates where she acquired a vast wealth of knowledge in customer service, customer focus and relations.

Catherine specializes in customer awareness, customer satisfaction while creating a welcoming atmosphere for clients.

ALI WANGA

Diploma in Law, Foundation Institute Of Africa

Wanga is our Legal Clerk. He holds a Diploma in Law from the Foundation Institute of Africa and Process Server Certificate from Judicial Court Process Server’s Secretariat.

Prior to joining the Firm, he worked as a Legal Clerk at Robert Githaiga & Co. Advocates, OMK Advocates, S.W Kamau & Co. Advocates and as a legal assistant at Stima DT Sacco Society Limited where he has gained vast experience in court processes, conveyancing practice and company registration matters.

STEPHEN SAKWA

Stephen is our office caretaker and general clerk. He is tasked with ensuring the lawyers are comfortable to deliver to client assignments.
